If you hit balls or play nine more than a few times a season, how you pay matters. Here’s a plain-English breakdown of range passes and memberships at Quarry Ridge Golf Center, with real numbers.
How range passes work
A range pass is prepaid credit with a bonus built in. The more you load, the bigger the bonus:
| You pay | You get | Bonus |
|---|---|---|
| $20 | $24 | +$4 (20% more) |
| $60 | $75 | +$15 (25% more) |
| $100 | $130 | +$30 (30% more) |
| $200 | $280 | +$80 (40% more) |
| $500 | $750 | +$250 (50% more) |
What that means per bucket
Say your usual is a large bucket (75–80 balls) at $13:
- Paying per visit, 10 large buckets cost $130.
- With the $100 pass, you get $130 in credit, exactly 10 large buckets. That works out to $10 per bucket.
Or say you hit a medium (45–50 balls) at $11 and buy the $20 pass: you get 2 buckets and $2 left over. That’s about $9.17 per bucket if you use all the credit.
Rule of thumb: if you’ll hit at least a few buckets this season, a pass beats paying each visit. If you practice weekly, the larger passes give the best value.
Is a membership worth it?
Memberships at Quarry Ridge cover unlimited rounds all season:
- Adult: $525/year
- Senior (55+): $424/year
- Adult & Spouse: $999/year
- Adult & Youth: $824/year
- Full Year Youth: $349 · Youth Summer (June–August): $199
- Yearly cart: $299 add-on
At the $14 weekday walking rate, an adult membership pays for itself after about 38 rounds. For seniors at $424, with a $13 rate, break-even is about 33 rounds. If you play twice a week through the season, a membership is the clear winner.
Which should you choose?
- Play occasionally: pay as you go.
- Practice often: get a range pass.
- Play nine every week: get a membership.
- Do both: a membership for the course plus a range pass for practice.
